Valerie Lynn Pierce May 6, 1951 - November 28, 2023
Valerie Lynn Pierce of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Floyd Posey and Letha Curry Posey, was born on Sunday, May 6, 1951 in Adair County, Kentucky and departed this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg. She was 72 years, 6 months, and 22 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. She was a Family Care Home Operator and enjoyed spending every single precious moment she could with her family.
Survived by her husband of 53 years, Alton “Junior” Pierce having united in marriage on August 22, 1970.
Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Marsha Lynnette and Greg Roy of Columbia; a son and daughter-in-law: Jason Matthew and Michelle Pierce of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Heather Blankenship (Trent) of Jamestown, Anthony Blankenship (Cayela) of Columbia, Alexa Pierce of Campbellsville, Emily Kelly (Brandon) of Springfield, Brandon Pierce of Campbellsville, and Jared Roy (Cory) of Jamestown; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother: Joseph Nelson Posey; and a sister: Shirley Temple Posey Kelly.

The funeral services for Valerie Lynn Pierce will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Union Chapel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Union Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Adam Pruitt and Bro. Handley Milby officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 9 A.M., Saturday at the Union Chapel Baptist Church until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take form of donation to the Family Memorial Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
