John Patrick “Johnie” Pierce of Campbellsville, the son of the late Roy Pete and Pearl (Karnes) Pierce, was born September 25, 1942 in Campbellsville and departed this life on Monday, August 10, 2026 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 83 years of age.
He was a talented musician and was the founder of The Dawnbreakers Band, he enjoyed fishing, playing baseball, watching the Chicago Cubs and collecting guitars and was of the Baptist faith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Jackie (Noe) Pierce and a brother: Paul Ford.
Survivors include his children: Pat Pierce of Campbellsville and Jeanie Campbell and husband Dennis of New Castle, KY.
Also two grandchildren: Jordan Campbell and wife Ashley of Lexington and Julian Pierce of Greensburg, and a host of other relatives, friends and fans including his faithful furry companion Sally.
Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with inurnment to follow in the Callahan Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
