Rita Rogers Houk of the Exie Community, daughter of the late Arvist Rogers and Maerine Lobb Rogers, was born on Wednesday, September 6, 1950 in Greensburg and departed this life on Monday, March 24, 2025 at her sons home in Horse Cave. She was 74 years, 6 months, and 18 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Riverside Baptist Church. She loved spending time in the garden, loved animals, and most importantly loved the Lord.
She was united in marriage to Donnie Odell Houk on September 9, 1967, who preceded her in death on May 11, 2023.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Timothy and Deanna Houk of Horse Cave; four grandchildren: David Jacoby, Jeffrey Kennedy, Aspen Eimen, Kaula Terry; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers and a sister: Donalds Rogers, Wilburn Rogers, and Jean Milby.

The service to celebrate the life of Rita Rogers Houk will be conducted at 1 P.M., Central Time, Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Lee Cemetery. Bro. Victor Matney officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4 until 8 P.M., Central Time, Sunday at the funeral home and after 7 A.M., Central Time, Monday until time of the service.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Lee Cemetery Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
