Richard Nicholas “Nicky” McClanahan, of Clinton, KY, the son of the late John and Willie Ruth (Turner) McClanahan, was born February 23, 1937 in Fulton County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab.
He was 87 years of age.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clinton, a veteran of the United States Army, and was the owner and operator of Nicky’s Barbeque in Clinton, KY.
Nicky enjoyed sports in general and was an avid Kentucky basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He also enjoyed quail hunting and fishing, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth McClanahan.
Survivors include two daughters: Gay Pillow and husband Robert, and Lisa Eason and husband Rodney, all of Campbellsville.
Also surviving are four grandchildren: Brandon High and wife Valerie, Maegan Despain and husband Jeremiah, Makayla Spalding and husband Dylan, and Pvt. Charlie Eason; four great-grandchildren: Payton High, and Lukas, Kylee, and Waylon Despain, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family chose cremation. A memorial service will be held later this month in Clinton, KY.
