Phyllis Marie Montgomery of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Loren Keith and Annie Mae (Whited) DeSpain and Stepfather Owen DeSpain, was born March 27, 1951, in Indiana and departed this life on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in Greensburg at the Green River Trails. She was 74 years of age.
She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and a member of the Campbellsville Church of the Nazarene.
Phyllis loved motorcycles, singing, cooking, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Jason Montgomery of Campbellsville, and a sister, Marcia Bell of Campbellsville.
Also four grandchildren: Summer Marcum and husband Mark, Sienna Montgomery, Destiny Thompson and husband Heath, and Jasey Montgomery; six great-grandchildren: Avery, Lizzie, Hallie, and Rosie Marcum, Paisley Montgomery, and Oakley Thompson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Montgomery, in 2020; two sisters and a brother: Loretta Druin, Betty Harris, and David DeSpain.
The funeral service for Phyllis Marie Montgomery will be on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.
Interment in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Bro. Leland Humphrey & Bro. Don Atwell will be officiating.
Family requests visitation from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, and after 8 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
