Indus and Shirley Pickett

Husband and wife, Indus Pickett and Shirley Ann Wright Pickett of the Donansburg Community of Green County, passed away peacefully just a few days apart with family by their side. Shirley Ann Wright Pickett, daughter of the late Sidney Wright and Edna Hood Wright was born on Wednesday, November 4, 1936 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Grandview Nursing Home. She was 88 years, 4 months, and 4 days of age. Indus Pickett, son of the late Lindsey Pickett and Christine Ingram Pickett was born on Tuesday, March 17, 1936 in Green County and departed this life on March 13, 2025 at his home. He was 88 years, 11 months, and 27 days of age.

Mr. and Mrs. Pickett were united in marriage on May 8, 1954, having been married for 70 years.

They had both made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Greensburg Baptist Church together. Indus worked as a machine operator for Eaton Axle in Glasgow. He was a member of the V.F.W. James L. Pruitt #5813, Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM, Green County Gideon Camp, and was a Baptist deacon for many years. Shirley worked in sewing at Edmonton Manufacturing and Fruit of the Loom, while also cooking in food services. However, her favorite job was being a homemaker and loving mother.

Survivors for both Indus and Shirley Pickett include three daughters and a son-in-law: Lanetta and Kerry Davis of Greensburg, Larissa Kreilein of Bowling Green, Mandy Beasley of Russellville; six grandchildren: Kyle Davis and Autumn of Campbellsville, Lindsey Fields and Steven of Greensburg, Patrick Beasley of Russell Springs, Cole Kreilein of Nashville, Zoe Lambert and Sam of Bowling Green, Mason Kreilein of Bowling Green; five great-grandchildren: Bradley Davis, Keaton Davis, Arya Davis, Ethan Fields, Andrew Fields.

Indus Pickett is survived by three brothers: Haydon Pickett of Campbellsville, Travis Pickett, Joe Allen Pickett both of Greensburg; three sisters: Shelia Riggs of Owensboro, Charlotte Widdifield of Bowling Green, Sharon Meadows of Greensburg.

Shirley is survived by a brother and sister: Wendell Wright of Campbellsville and Judy Cook of Greensburg.

Besides their parents, they were also preceded in death by a son-in-law: Rob Beasley; Indus is also preceded in death by a brother: Jerry Pickett.

The funeral services for Indus and Shirley Pickett will be conducted at 2 P.M., Central Time, Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with a Masonic Service to immediately follow in honor of member Indus Pickett conducted by Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM. Bro. Todd Young officiating the funeral service.

Burial will take place following the services in the Ladies Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 9 A.M., Central Time, Sunday until time of the funeral service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in memory of Shirley Pickett to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and in memory of Indus Pickett to the Gideon Bible Fund or Hosparus of Green River which can all be made at the funeral home.
