Gloria Lee Davis (née McCubbins), of Jeffersonville, Indiana, a native of Green County, passed away on February 28, 2025. She was 79 years old. Gloria, also called “Mom,” Mamaw,” “Jazzy G,” and “Jazz,” was known for her feisty spirit, quick wit, hardworking nature, love for her family, beautiful smile, and kindness. She never knew a stranger and had deep love for her family, especially her two children and two grandchildren. Gloria enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, taking walks on the beach, and being with family.
Gloria worked at the Central Kentucky News Journal and the Kentucky Press Association for many years. During her professional life, Gloria was a resident of Campbellsville, Frankfort, and Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Following her retirement, Gloria moved across the river to Indiana to be closer to her family.
Gloria, daughter of the late William “Rooster” McCubbins and Pauline McCubbins was born on July 2, 1945 in Green County. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Garry McCubbins.
She is survived by her children, Dianna Quisenberry Clark of Jeffersonville and Dr. Sammy Davis (RaDonna Reid) of Louisville; her granddaughters, Drew Clark and Sami Jo Davis-Rapier (Logan); a nephew, Troy McCubbins (Julie) of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Having touched many lives, Gloria will be tremendously missed.
The funeral services for Gloria Lee McCubbins Davis will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Central Time, Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens.
Visitation is requested from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M., Central Time, Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Thursday until time of the funeral service.
