Doris Lee Bridgewater, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Clarence Milton and Clady (White) Vaughn, was born February 22, 1929 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Sunday, April 12, 2026 in Louisville at the Rockford Manor. She was 97 years of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Pleasant Union Baptist Church, a former medical records personnel for a doctor’s office and a homemaker.
She enjoyed music, and singing, and following the Perfect Fit Band, crossword puzzles, working in her flower beds, traveling, watching sports and the Rifleman.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Edward Allen Bridgewater, Jr; a daughter: Beverly Joyce Bridgewater; her brothers: William Hollis Vaughn, Clarence Milton Vaughn, Maurice ‘Tippy” Vaughn and James Earl “Jake” Vaughn; her sisters: Elanor M. Miller, Eula Wray Shively and Burnice Louise Parker.
Survivors include her children: Darlene Hazel (Lewis), Brenda Epperson, Lee A. Bridgewater, Gary Bridgewater (Tonya), Kenneth Bridgewater, Hollis Bridgewater and wife Tina, Wilando “Chop” Bridgewater, Craig Bridgewater (Yevonne Young).
Two sisters: Georgia Pryor and Betty Vaughn; seventeen grandchildren and a host of great and great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Also, special friends, Odessa Ford and George “JR” Johnson.
FUNERAL: Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 1:00 P.M.
Pleasant Union Baptist Church.
