Rozella Marr McCubbin

March 15, 1935  –  August 2, 2026

Rozella Marr McCubbin of Summersville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Elva Leslie Marr and Maude Frances Milby Marr, was born on Friday, March 15, 1935 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was 91 years, 4 months, and 18 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She was united in marriage to Harold Aaron McCubbin on May 12, 1956, who preceded her in death on April 17, 2022.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Peggy and Benny Shirley, Jonie and David Patterson all of Summersville; six grandchildren: Brad and Tracy Shirley, April Shirley, Brian and Jessi Shirley, Billy and Carla Patterson, Lesley and Matt Goodin, Amanda and Andy Olson; 17 great-grandchildren: Dustin, Andrew, Christian, Hannah, Cody, Tyler, Ryan, Zach, Amber, Ayden, Owen, Blake S., Blake R., Jarrod, Patience, Lexi, Abbie; 13 great-great grandchildren: Preslee, Cayde, Ellie, Sophia, Rosie, Greyson, Oliver, Braelynn, Fletcher, Jonah, Grayson, Axel, Ace; her sister: Marianna Loyall of Louisville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter: Cynthia McCubbin in 1959.

The funeral service for Rozella Marr McCubbin will be conducted at 10 A.M., Central Time, Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery. Bro. Greg Whitlow and Bro. Kelvin Edwards officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4 until 8 P.M., Central Time, Friday at the funeral home and after 7 A.M., Central Time, Saturday at the funeral home until time of the service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
