Philip A. Hamm of Campbellsville, the son of the late Herbert Hamm and Anna Mae Bibeau, was born on March 23, 1951, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, and departed this life on April 2, 2025, at Baptist Health in Louisville. He was 74 years of age.
Philip was of the Catholic faith and retired from Palumbo Construction Company after 30 years in road construction. He was also the owner of a trucking business. A hardworking and dedicated man, he took pride in providing for his family and was known for his strong work ethic and kind heart.
Above all, Philip was a devoted husband to Janice Lee Boreman Hamm, whom he married on April 5, 1975. Their marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership, and after nearly 50 years together, they are now reunited in eternity.
Philip cherished his family deeply and was a proud and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his two daughters, Linda Hamm and Jennifer Van Mersbergen and her husband Guy, all of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Rebecca Hamm, Jaylynn Van Mersbergen, Philip Van Mersbergen, and Chyanne Van Mersbergen.
He is also survived by one sister and two brothers: Anna Cervantes (Juan) of Campbellsville, David Hamm of Florida, and Dean Hamm (Leslie) of Illinois, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Philip had a passion for antique cars, cooking, and coin collecting, but his greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones. He was a family man, a loyal friend, and a good neighbor who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Joe Mohr, Donald Hamm, Kathleen Hamm, and Ricky Hamm.
Philip will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
