Parita Faye Thompson was born May 21, 1957, in Green County, Kentucky to the late James Amos and Lela Thornton Thompson. She departed this life Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Glasgow Signature Healthcare, having attained the age of sixty-six years, eleven months and twenty-six days.
Parita had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Jacob Grove Baptist Church. She was a Green County High School Graduate. She enjoyed sports, especially softball and track. She loved her grandbabies, cooking and flowers. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter: Monica Thompson, one brother: Jimmy Thompson and one sister: Margaret Sue Thompson.
She is survived by five children: Michael Thompson of Louisville, John, Oba, Parita and Kanissa’Ai Thompson, all of Columbia, three brothers and one sister: Donnie Thompson of Lebanon, Udell Thompson of Kewanee, Illinois, James W. Thompson of Corbin, KY and Katie Embry of Aurora, Illinois, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Parita Faye Thompson will be 1 PM Central Time Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Foster Toler Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg with Rev. Melvin Mills officiating. Visitation will be 11 AM Central Time until the funeral hour at 1 PM Central Time Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home to help take care of the funeral expenses.
