Mrs. Ida Mural Gentry of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Green County, daughter of the late Emmett French and Mary Katheryn Morris French, was born on Sunday, July 17, 1927, in Taylor County, Kentucky and departed this life on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Signature Healthcare East in Louisville. She was 97 years, seven months, and eight days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church and also attended Arcade Baptist Church. She was a retired line worker for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. and Enro Shirt Company.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Richard William Gentry on May 16, 1985 having united in marriage on April 9, 1949; a son: Larry Gene Gentry on August 10, 2010; daughter-in-law: Deborah Gentry on February 14, 2025; twin grandchildren: Josh and Jenna Gentry January 1985; two brothers: Hoover French and William French.
Survivors include a son: Stanley Wayne Gentry of Mt. Sterling; two grandchildren: J. Patrick Gentry, Jordan Talbot Gentry and wife, Anna Claire all of Lexington; special friends: Julie Baird of Mt. Washington, Faye Bowman, Helen Stewart, Jamie Cameron all of Louisville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Mr. Mural Gentry will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro. Gary Casey and Bro. Trent Davis officiating.
Visitation is requested after 9:00 A.M., Saturday, March 8th at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
