Motorcyclists Injured in Collision on East KY 80

On June 20th, 2026, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury accident involving two motorcycles on East KY 80.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Patrick Hampton, 39, of Louisville, was operating a 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and traveling east on KY 80 when he slowed to make a right turn into a business. Hampton’s motorcycle was then struck from the rear by a 2005 Triumph motorcycle operated by Kevin Smith, 36, of Indiana.

Both riders were transported by Adair EMS to TJ Health Columbia Emergency Room for treatment of their injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by Adair County Deputy Richard Shirley.
