Fred Mitchell Wright of Campbellsville, the son of the late George William Wright and Zelma Moran Wright, was born June 13, 1934, in Green County, and departed this life on July 18, 2025, in Campbellsville. He was 91 years of age.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a former employee of Durhams Hardware in Green County and Parker-Kalon, where he worked from 1965 to 2000. He loved gardening, farming, raising cattle, and taking Sunday drives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Montgomery Wright, his step-mother, Lucille Sweeney, and three siblings: Dorothy Judd, Homer Shively Wright, and Garland Wright, and a step-brother, Jessie Peppers.
He is survived by one daughter, Connie Wright of Campbellsville, two grandchildren, Mitchell Wright of Campbellsville, and William Wright of Hawaii. One brother, Jerry Wright (Jeanie), and four sisters, Peggy Montgomery, Judy Reynolds (Jerald), Nancy Sue Newton, Ruby Kay Jessie (Wayne), and one step-sister, Margarette Perkins.
The funeral for Fred Mitchell Wright will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 26, 2025, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with entombment to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Bro. Steve Orr will officiate.
The family has requested visitation on Friday, July 26, 2025, from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.
