Columbia Police Arrest Two On Burglary Charges

Columbia, Kentucky. — Two Indiana men were arrested early Sunday morning after Columbia Police responded to a reported burglary in progress at a local business.

On Sunday, December 21st, 2025, at approximately 1:47 a.m., officers with the Columbia Police Department were dispatched to a business where two suspects were reportedly making forced entry using burglary tools.

Following the investigation, Marcus D. Halliburton, 48, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Kenneth H. Palmer III, 57, of Catherwood, Indiana, were taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:

-Criminal Trespassing, 3rd Degree

-Burglary, 1st Degree

-Possession of Burglary Tools

-Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree

-TBUT OR DISP AUTO $10,000<$1,000,000 (attempt)

-Possession of Marijuana

Both individuals were transported to the Adair County Regional Jail, where they were lodged pending further legal proceedings.

Columbia Police Officers Dustin Bunch and Tyler McKinney made the arrests. They were assisted at the scene by Adair County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch and Deputy Joey Keith.
