Columbia Man Arrested On Multiple Charges After Attempted Vehicle Theft

On Sunday, April 27, 2025, the Columbia Police Department responded to an attempted vehicle theft on North Highway 55.

The male suspect was located approximately six miles south of Columbia on Highway 61.

The suspect, Johnathan Gaskins, 31, of Columbia, was arrested and charged with TBUT or DISP AUTO $1000 < $10,000 and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree (Class D Felonies).

Lieutenant Justin Cross was the arresting officer.

Lieutenant Cross was assisted by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office.
