CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University has named Dr. Sierra McGinnis director of strategic graduate admissions and has named Stephen Chafin director of international admissions.
“What a marvelous moment it is for our university when two of our best and brightest have earned the opportunity to elevate within our organization,” Dr. Jason Meriwether, vice president of Enrollment Management, said. “As we execute our strategic enrollment plan, I am confident that our Graduate and International Admissions offices, respectively, will reach new heights with the leadership, energy and creativity of Dr. Sierra and Stephen.”
McGinnis has served at Campbellsville University since April 2022.
I am excited to assume the role of Director of Strategic Graduate Admissions,” McGinnis said. “This role will allow me to delve deeper into enrollment management strategies and spearhead graduate student recruitment for CU.
“The prospect of employing data-driven insights and innovative outreach methods is exciting. I look forward to working with CU personnel to collaboratively build graduate recruitment efforts for the future.”
As director of strategic graduate admissions, McGinnis will set enrollment target goals, identify target markets, develop outreach strategies and utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of admissions strategies, track trends, and make data-driven decisions.
McGinnis is a two-time graduate of Campbellsville University, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 2015 and her Master of Science in Justice Studies in 2019. She also received her Ph.D. in Education Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands in May.
Chafin previously served as associate director of international enrollment.
“I am very excited about stepping into the role of Director of International Enrollment,” Chafin said. “In this this position I will have the opportunity to continue the work of making our Campbellsville Campus one of the most diverse campuses in the state of Kentucky, with roughly one third of our campus being international students.”
With over 65 countries being represented on our campus, Chafin said, “I truly appreciate how international students can provide different perspectives and viewpoints that our students may not be able to see or hear without interacting with our international student population.”
Chafin added, “This was a very important part of my campus experience as a college student, and I am happy to help foster an environment for other students to have a similar experience.”
Chafin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 2017 from Lindsey Wilson College and received his Master of Business Administration from Campbellsville University in 2020.
Chafin began at Campbellsville University in July 2019 as an international enrollment specialist.
Both appointments are effective immediately.
