On Monday April 7, 2025 at approximately 19:55 PM, the Campbellsville Police Department responded to the area of Handley Ave in reference to a subject with a knife.
Once officers arrived on scene, a Hispanic male was in the roadway with blood coming from his hand.
The male informed officers the suspects general location.
While searching for the suspect, officers located a male in a wooded area and after a brief foot pursuit, the male was taken into custody.
A short time later another male arrived at the Taylor Regional Hospital with multiple stab wounds to the face.
Investigation revealed both males were involved in an altercation with the suspect on Handley Ave.
Lazaro Perez, age 24, of Campbellsville was lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center with the following charges:
Assault 1st (2 counts)
Fleeing or Evading Police 1st (ON FOOT)
Resisting Arrest
Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place
Disorderly Conduct, 2nd degree
