Campbellsville Fire-Rescue officials are urging residents in flood-prone areas to take precautions as heavy rainfall is expected to impact the region in the coming days.
Specific areas of concern include neighborhoods near Buckhorn Creek on Allen Street, Johnson Street, Browns Court, and Mayes Court, where flooding occurs rapidly. Additionally, residents along Hwy 70, Hwy 76, and Bradfordsville Road should be aware that Wilson Creek, Robinson Creek, and their tributaries tend to rise quickly. Tributaries along Hwy 210, Fairview Road, and Friendship Pike also pose risks, as Little Pitman Creek floods swiftly, covering bridges in a short time. Salem Church Road is another critical area, with Middle Pitman Creek already having flooded once this week. I’m sure there are plenty of other areas of concern so we need everyone to be alert for changing conditions.
Safety Recommendations:
• Have a flood emergency plan in place.
• Stay informed by monitoring local weather updates and emergency alerts.
• Avoid driving through flooded roads-Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• If evacuation becomes necessary, move to higher ground immediately.
Local emergency responders are on high alert and prepared to assist as needed.
Don’t Panic-Just Prepare-Flooding Events Are Predictable.
