Sheriff Gary Roy: I’ve worked for 4 police chiefs and 2 sheriffs, in over 20 plus years of policing in Adair County, there’s never been an issue about backing other officers up.  

I don’t know why the officer was called off that day or the reasoning behind it.  

As to my knowledge changes have been made, the issue is resolved and thankfully no one got hurt that day.
