Sheriff’s Office Arrests Adair County Man On Methamphetamine Charges

On Monday, March 18th, 2024 at 5:39 p.m., the Adair County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint 9 miles south of Columbia on Yellow Hammer Road. 

The complaint was suspicious activity in the area with unusual traffic.   

Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch responded to the area and located a red Chevrolet truck in the area of the call. 

After making contact with the operator, it was found that he had an outstanding warrant for arrest from Kentucky Probation and Parole.

Glen Richards Jr., 41, of Columbia, was removed from the vehicle and upon that, he attempted to conceal or hide a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.  

Richards was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by Chief Deputy Hitch on the charges of Probation Violation (Warrant of Arrest) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (1st degree Methamphetamine).

The Adair County Sheriff’s Office continues the investigation.
