Melvin Travis Pickett of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Lindsey Pickett and Lena Christine Ingram Pickett, was born on Sunday, July 9, 1950 in Greensburg and departed this life on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at his home. He was 75 years, 10 months, and 17 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and grew up in Ladies Chapel Methodist Church. He was a “jack of all trades”, whether it be construction, farming, or his favorite hobby, music. Travis was a talented singer and songwriter and could always be found picking his guitar or listening to his cassette tapes.
He is survived by his siblings: Haydon Pickett, Joe Alan Pickett, Shelia Riggs, Charlotte Widdifield, Sharon Meadows; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers: jerry Pickett and Indus Pickett.
Honoring his wishes cremation was chosen. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
