Columbia Police Charge Campbellsville Man With Promoting Contraband

The Columbia Police Department responded to the Adair County Regional Jail on August 6, 2026, at approximately 9:49 a.m. (CST) after deputy jailers discovered suspected illegal narcotics on a male subject during the booking process. The individual had been transported to the jail from a neighboring county on unrelated charges.

Jerome L. Hodges, 30, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, was subsequently charged with the following offenses:

•Promoting Contraband – 1st Degree

•Possession of Marijuana

•Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine)

•Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument – 3rd Degree

The additional charges were filed by Columbia Police Officer Elliot Smith with assistance from deputies at the Adair County Regional Jail.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
