Lindsey Wilson College Students Refuel At Spring ‘Midnight Breakfast’

A fist bump gains admission to ‘a great Lindsey Wilson tradition.’

COLUMBIA, KY. (04/30/2025) Lindsey Wilson College students refueled for the stretch run of 2025 spring finals with the college’s semiannual “Midnight Breakfast” on late Tuesday night.

More than 420 of the college’s students showed up at Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center for food, fellowship and recharging at the spring edition of “Midnight Breakfast,” which is usually held in the waning hours on Tuesday of the week of final examinations.

The semiannual event, which is more than two decades old, is sponsored by the Lindsey WIlson Office of Student Services. Members of the college’s residence life staff serve students meals prepared by the Lindsey Wilson food services staff.

“It’s one of my favorite events we hold at Lindsey Wilson because it gives students a chance to break away from studying for a few hours, hang out with friends, and check in with members of our residence life and student services staffs,” said Dean of Students Chris Schmidt. “Students always say it’s one of their favorite events of the semester. It’s become such a great Lindsey Wilson tradition.”

Along with Assistant Dean of Students Abe Cross, Schmidt welcomed each student to the Cranmer Dining & Conference Center on Tuesday night, where a fist bump rather than a scan of their Student ID card got them admitted to the late-night meal.

“The thing I really like about ‘Midnight Breakfast’ is that our students have such a good time,” said Cross. “When you hear a group of them erupt into a burst of laughter, you know they’re having a good time and releasing a little stress from studying for their finals. And I appreciate what our residence life and food services staffs do to help pull off this event every semester. It wouldn’t be possible to hold it without their willingness to put in the time to serve our students and help clean the dining center so that it’s ready for breakfast the next morning.”

Lindsey Wilson’s 121st commencement ceremony will be held in three parts: at 6 p.m. CT Friday, May 2, and at 10 a.m. and at 2 p.m. CT Saturday, May 3, all at Biggers Sports Center. It will be the final Lindsey Wilson College commencement as the school will become Lindsey Wilson University on July 1.
