Debra Sue Newton

Debra Sue Newton of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Franklin Dea Ray and Lorene Minor Ray, was born August 11, 1962, in Green County, KY, and departed this life on April 8, 2025, in Campbellsville. She was 62 years of age.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pitman Valley Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Grandview Nursing Home. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and was a very honest, loving, and devoted person.

She is survived by her husband, David Newton of Campbellsville, and three children: Christopher Tungate and his Fiancé Amber Hyde of Campbellsville, Brandon Tungate and companion Elizabeth Covin of Campbellsville, and D.J. Sanders and his wife Keishia of Texas. 7 grandchildren: Austin Tungate, Calleigh Carter-Tungate, Channing Tungate, Kylee Sanders, Jackson Tungate, Rhett Sanders, and Savanna Sanders.

Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters: Loyd Ray (Sheila), Michael Ray, Betty Curry (Tommy), and Brenda Rose (William), all of Greensburg, and Tina Meece (Mark) of Campbellsville.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Allen Ray.

The funeral service for Debra Sue Newton will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 14, 2025, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery.

Bro. John Russell will be officiating.

The family has requested visitation on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
