Dedra “DeeDee” Milby Bennett of Summersville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Austin Milby and Minnie Irene Mays Milby, was born on Wednesday, February 10, 1960 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, July 20, 2026 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was 66 years, 5 months, and 10 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. She worked for the Green County School System as an Instructional Assistant for 27 years, prior to retirement.
She is survived by her husband: Barry Bennett of Summersville, having united in marriage on October 20, 1978.
Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Josh and Allison Bennett of Summersville, Andrew and Suzanne Bennett of Campbellsville; one daughter and son-in-law: Sarah and Zach Leftwich of Summersville; five grandchildren: Ava Bennett, Jack Bennett, Lana Kate Leftwich, Graham Leftwich all of Summersville, Maverick Bennett of Campbellsville; her mother-in-law: Maxine Bennett of Summersville; three brothers: Walter Wayne Milby, Leslie Milby both of Summersville, Mendell Milby of Columbia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters: Cleta Cook and Carolyn Huff.

The funeral service for Dedra “DeeDee” Milby Bennett will be conducted at 12 Noon, Central Time, Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Aetna Grove Cemetery. Bro. Shannon McCubbin officiating.
Visitation is requested after 8 A.M., Central Time, Saturday at the church until time of the service.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
