Taylor Regional Hospital announced that its cancer program has earned national accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Accreditation Program.
This recognition reflects Taylor Regional Hospital’s commitment to providing patients throughout Central Kentucky and beyond with comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care across the continuum—from prevention and early detection through diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and ongoing support.
The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by establishing and continually advancing standards for cancer care.
Commission on Cancer accreditation is awarded to institutions that demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality, multidisciplinary cancer care and compliance with nationally recognized standards. Each participating cancer program undergoes a rigorous evaluation of its performance, services and processes. To maintain accreditation, programs must complete a comprehensive site review every three years.
The Commission on Cancer standards provide a framework for ensuring patients have access to a full range of diagnostic, treatment and supportive services, either directly through the accredited institution or through coordinated referrals and community-based resources.
