Maryland Man Arrested Following Police Pursuit from Hodgenville to Campbellsville

A Maryland man was arrested early Sunday morning following a traffic stop and subsequent police pursuit that began on Lincoln Parkway and ended in Campbellsville.

According to the Hodgenville Police Department, officers initiated a traffic stop at approximately 12:55 a.m. on June 22nd after observing a 2011 silver Kia Sportage speeding. The driver was identified as Deondrick K. Davis of Baltimore, Maryland.

During the stop, officers reported detecting the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and requested that Davis exit the vehicle so a search could be conducted. Police say Davis refused and fled the scene in the vehicle, traveling toward Highway 210.

Authorities allege that during the pursuit Davis disregarded a traffic signal at Lincoln Farm Road and a stop sign at the Highway 210 intersection before continuing at a high rate of speed. The pursuit ended at a residence on Laten Drive in Campbellsville, where Davis exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.

Davis was charged with speeding 26mph over the limit, disregarding a Traffic Control Device (Stop Sign, disregarding a Traffic Control Device (Traffic Light), Reckless Driving, 7 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree-Police Officer, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree- motor vehicle, Reckless Driving, Possession of Marijuana, and Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operators License.

He is currently being held at the LaRue County Detention Center.

The Hodgenville Police Department was assisted by the LaRue County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, and Campbellsville Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing.
