Two Found Deceased Following Mobile Home Fire in Summersville

UPDATE:

Two individuals lost their lives in an early morning house fire. They have been identified as Belinda McDonald and Erb Roution the investigation is ongoing as to the cause of the fire.

Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 12:08 a.m. early this morning to a reported mobile home fire on William E. Lobb Drive in Summersville.

The first fire apparatus arrived on scene around 12:15 a.m., where crews found the mobile home half involved with heavy fire, along with heavy smoke conditions throughout the remainder of the structure.

As firefighters began fire attack operations, they were advised of the possibility that two occupants may still be inside the residence, as two vehicles were observed in the driveway.

Firefighters worked to gain control of the fire while simultaneously conducting searches of the unburned areas of the structure. During those search efforts, two occupants were located deceased inside the home.

Crews remained on scene for approximately three hours, working to fully extinguish the fire and assisting the Green County Coroner’s Office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time; however, foul play is not suspected.
